Doctar 4,5/65mm WA mounted on Speed Graphic

  •  Doctar 4,5/65mm WA mounted on Speed Graphic

  • Doctar 4,5/65mm WA

Instead of using the Aero Ektar all the time on both of my Speeds, I decided to mount the Doctar 65mm on one of them exclusively.
Mounting the lens on a board was no problem, allthough the rear part of the lens must be screwed in from the back. This is the only way as the rear part is 90 mm. However this can be done very easily. It is mandatory to use the Pacemaker with Graflok for this lens.
It could be done also with a Graphic back (Taking the back off and screwing it on again after placement of the rear part), but this would be too much for me :-)

Doctar 4,5/65 WA on PSG and SG with KODAK Aero Ektar 2,5 /178
With the Doctar 65mm it is obvious we have to drop the bed.

  •  Pacemaker with Doctar 4,5/65 WA and SG with KODAK Aero Ektar 2,5 /178
  • Two SG's quite different

Shown my two Speed Graphics, same body different glass.
The difference in Image making is quite extreme indeed. As you all know with the AE combo, we can deliver bokeh and unsharpness at will. This is a little different with the 65mm though. It is focused on inf. at the rear rail. If using the hyperfocal distance of 4.15 meter everything will be sharp from 2.08 meter till infinity at f 11.
If we want more depth of field we can stop down to f32 (hyperfocal 1.47m) and get everything from 0.735 meter till infinity.... And yes....handheld that is!
