Nikon F

  •   Nikon F in trading bag?
  • REPLACED OBSOLETE GEAR...!

No one could have dreamed, when buying and investing in a top-notch camera system, eventually there would be a day to replace the obsolete but once so beloved camera.

  • THE MOST CRISPLY DESIGNED...!

The Nikon F with an eyelevel prism is one of the most crisply designed, cleanly styled cameras ever made. It is at once distinctive and elegant, and for those of you who have seen nothing prettier than the slightly lumpy (for my tastes) EOS or Nx00x series, you owe it to yourself to gaze upon the forerunner of modern 35mm SLRs at least once a day.

Actually my very first important camera. I bought it with the Photomic TN, acquired the eyelevel prism much later.

    Nikon F and Pistol Grip

  •   Nikon F and Pistol Grip.
  • NIKON PISTOLGRIP II AND SOME...

Ever since I started using MF my Nikons , glass and accessories became more or less orphans...and consequently were used less and less. The glass I own are: 20mm/3.5 - 50mm/1.2 - 85/2.0 - 135/2.8 - 300/4.5 - 55mm/2.8 MICRO NIKKOR

Don't think this camera is never accompanying me...actually it is now and then, nonchalantly slung around my shoulder, thus showing years of experience. Early 60'ties I used a Nikkorex-F sailing around the world with the HAL.

  •   Nikon F4.
  • NIKON F-4

To get my Nikon glass resuscitated I've bought this machine. A machine indeed, wow what a camera... Nowadays, still very stylish and great design. Feels like a real camera should. The one to be seen with!!!
General comments: The Nikon F4 was the benchmark camera and still one of Nikon's best inventions to date. Build quality has never been beaten or ever likely to be . Wonderful grip design either way up. Shutter sound is awesome....Cannot praise this camera highly enough. Resume: An amazing camera. Second to none (personal view) Intuitive controls, built like a tank. (weight with the 50/f1,2 - 1800 gram)

  •   Brunton Military Transit Compass.
  • IN NEED OF A COMPASS?

Actually I did not need one to know which direction to go...I went all the way, from 135 to 8x10", Pinhole, Polaroid SX-70, 690 extreme and now it feels like coming home...
What really came out during all sojourns, there is no ideal format to work on. Simply stated, one should try all...:-0

    FinePix S3 Professional

  •   FinePix S3 Professional.
  • FINEPIX S 3 PROF

Well, here it is. The FinePix s3 pro. This camera suits me fine, incredible real colors and some. Most important of all, my beloved Nikon glass (a.o 50/f1.2), gathering dust, finally revived. All accessories like angle viewer and magnifier can be used also. Really convenient is also the cable release connection. (you don't see them very often again on DSLR's).A pleasure to work with, when subject matter is asking for, that is!

Till very recently, photographs used on the site were made with Nikon Coolpix 990 and Leica D-lux3.

Are the mechanical cameras really obsolete:
Probably not, 100 years from now, when ALL our modern plastic wonder cameras are broken and buried in landfills due to lack of circuit boards and chips, these old mechanical cameras will still be clicking away so long as there are repairmen who like to tinker on old fashioned technology. Hmm. A design which defies obsolescence. I wonder, are these mechanical knights really old fashioned, or the wave of the future?
